Early Superannuation on Compassionate Grounds for Dental Care

Patients experiencing significant dental problems and financial hardship may be eligible to apply to the ATO for early release of their superannuation on compassionate grounds to help pay for essential dental treatment. This process is called Compassionate Release of Superannuation and is administered solely by the ATO under superannuation law.

At DentalOne, our role is to:
• Assess your dental needs and discuss appropriate treatment options
• Provide clinical reports, treatment plans and quotes
• If you choose, refer you to SuperCare.

DentalOne does not provide financial product advice. Any decision to apply for superannuation should be based on your personal circumstance.

When might compassionate release of superannuation be considered?

  • Possible funding support (if eligible): The ATO may approve compassionate release of superannuation to help with essential dental treatment when other payment options are not available.
  • Application process: SuperCare (an independent registered tax agent) can assist you with the application paperwork and communication with the ATO.
  • Eligibility and documentation: We can explain your dental diagnosis and provide the clinical documentation (treatment plans, reports and quotes) that may be required to SuperCare.

At DentalOne, we refer you to SuperCare, an independent registered tax agent that assists patients with applications. Our role is to provide appropriate clinical care and supporting dental documentation. SuperCare is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Australians by helping to alleviate the stress associated with financial pressure when medical interventions are required.
