Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are often used to improve the aesthetic appearance of teeth. They are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded (attached) to the front of the teeth, providing a natural, attractive look. The best way to describe them would be that they resemble a false fingernail. Dental veneers can be used to fix broken, chipped, stained, misaligned, worn down, uneven or abnormally spaced teeth.
What Types of Dental Veneers are there and what is the procedure?
Dental veneers can either be made in a laboratory and are porcelain, or fabricated by your dentist using a composite resin material. If your dentist recommends porcelain veneers, two appointments will be required.
At the first appointment, your tooth will be prepared (shaved down a little) then an impression will be taken and sent off to the dental laboratory. Once the veneers are ready, they are bonded to the teeth with resin cement.
If your dentist recommends composite resin veneers, these are generally done in one appointment. Both procedures from the patient’s perspective feel very much like having a normal filling done. Veneers are a great way to achieve a beautiful smile!

Step 1: Initial Consultation
At Dental One, your path to a perfect smile begins with an in-depth consultation. Here, you’ll meet our experienced and welcoming dental team. We’ll work together to develop a customised treatment plan tailored to your desires and requirements, taking the time to listen to your story and collect all necessary information to fulfil your vision.
Our dentists will evaluate your speech, smile, and bite to guarantee that your final smile is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing. Following this, we’ll scan your teeth and forward the scans to our ceramists, who will begin crafting your new porcelain veneers.

Step 2: Trial Smile
This marks a crucial step in your smile transformation at Dental One.
Once your smile design is finalised, our dentists will fit your teeth with temporary veneers. This allows you to test out your new veneers, giving you a chance to assess their shape, colour, size, and how they feel in your mouth.
Your feedback is vital in shaping the final design, as your input directly influences the outcome.
With your observations in hand, our ceramics studio will commence crafting the final veneers, incorporating your feedback throughout the process.

Step 3: Final Smile Application
At Denta One, once your porcelain veneers are crafted, we’ll carefully remove the temporary ones to prepare for the placement of your permanent veneers. You’ll get a chance to see and approve your new smile before we proceed with bonding.
After you’re satisfied with the fit and look, we’ll clean your teeth using a specialised dental cleanser to ensure optimal adhesion of the veneers. We then apply a high-quality German cement to securely attach your porcelain veneers.
You’ll step out of our chair with a beautifully crafted smile that you’ll cherish for many years.
