How does Orthodontic treatment work?
Orthodontic appliances, both fixed and removable, are used to help move teeth, retrain muscles and affect the growth of the jaws. These appliances work by placing gentle pressure on the teeth and jaws.
You may be a candidate for Invisalign (invisible braces) or you may need traditional braces, your dentist will be able to guide and advise you as to what will work in your specific case.
Fixed Braces or Invisalign (clear)
Traditional fixed braces are metal brackets attached to the teeth with wires and tiny rubber bands. Invisalign or clear braces are thin plastic aligners which work to align the teeth discretely and effectively.
